Injury accidents

¢ Two people were injured in an automobile accident Tuesday morning on the Kansas Turnpike. Nathaniel J. Milburn, 27, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., was driving a 1997 Chrysler near milepost 202.9 when he swerved to avoid another vehicle, lost control, and struck the bridge rail, Milburn reported to police. Passenger Lori A. Hill, 30, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., was also injured in the accident. Both were transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ An employee of US Bank reported $1,000 in criminal damage and theft at an ATM machine in the 900 block of Massachusetts Street. The incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday.

¢ An employee of Aquila reported the theft of more than $1,000 in items on the company premises in the 600 block of East Eighth Street. The items included a Dell monitor and Makita cordless drill. The incident occurred between 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Monday.
