Contract approved for street repairs
Baldwin City ? An engineering design contract for reconstructing a portion of Sixth Street in Baldwin City was approved Monday by the Douglas County Commission.
The contract is with Bartlett & West Engineers Inc., which has offices in Lawrence and Topeka, in an amount not to exceed $119,215.
The reconstruction will be from Indiana to Orange streets on Sixth Street in Baldwin City. Sixth Street is also Douglas County Road 1055.
Last year the county agreed to cooperate with Baldwin City on the reconstruction project by obtaining engineering design services. The cost is to be shared between the county and the city.
