Banker completes leadership program

Lawrence resident Eric Haar, vice president and government relations officer for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka, has completed the Kansas Bankers Association’s 2007 Bank Leaders of Kansas Program.

Haar will graduate from the program Feb. 12, during the association’s Harold A. Stones Public Affairs Conference in Topeka.

Haar participated in four training sessions designed to build his leadership skills and knowledge of the banking industry. Class members learned about the structure and governance of the association; honed individual leadership skills; discovered challenges and opportunities facing bankers and entrepreneurs in the state’s rural and urban areas; and visited Washington, D.C., to observe operations of Congress and federal banking regulatory agencies.

The association, founded by bankers in 1887, represents and serves its 336 member banks.
