Treasurer to mail personal property assessment forms
The Douglas County Appraiser’s Office will mail the 2009 personal property assessment forms on Dec. 31.
All taxpayers who had taxable personal property, including boats, mobile homes, large trucks and business machinery and equipment, in 2008 will be sent a form.
Property owners must sign the assessment form and return it to the appraiser’s office by March 15, or a late-filing penalty applies.
Taxpayers who own personal property but don’t receive a form should contact the appraiser’s office at 832-5289.
