Taylor Bird had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Lawrence High. Jasmyn Turner also scored nine points for the Lions (3-3).

Ashli Hill had 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven block to lead Free State. Chantay Caron also scored 13 points for the Firebirds (2-2).

LHS 28/FS 27 — End of third quarter

The Lions have climbed all the way back to take the lead in the intracity showdown after three quarters. Lawrence forced eight Free State turnovers in the third quarter. Taylor Bird leads the Lions with 12 points and 10 boards.

Lawrence High is inching closer to FSHS, but the story so far is the play of Ashli Hill for the Firebirds. Hill is currently four blocks away from a triple double.
