Perry man fears son, 44, fell into Delaware River

There are fears that a man missing from Perry for nearly a week may have fallen over a steep bank and into a river near his house, the man’s father said Tuesday.

Law enforcement officials have performed an extensive search for Shawn Fowler, 44, who has been missing since 2 p.m. last Wednesday.

“It’s very likely that he could’ve gone in the river,” said Dale Fowler, father of the missing man, also of Perry. “They have not found anything.”

This Thursday, emergency workers plan to drag the Delaware River, Perry Police Chief Ramon Gonzalez said. The river was frozen Tuesday, so Gonzalez said the plans might change.

Fowler is 6 feet tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has long brown hair and a beard, police said. Any information about Fowler should be reported to Jefferson County emergency officials at (785) 863-2351.
