There are fears that a man missing from Perry for nearly a week may have fallen over a steep bank and into a river near his house, the man's father said Tuesday.

Law enforcement officials have performed an extensive search for Shawn Fowler, 44, who has been missing since 2 p.m. last Wednesday.

"It's very likely that he could've gone in the river," said Dale Fowler, father of the missing man, also of Perry. "They have not found anything."

This Thursday, emergency workers plan to drag the Delaware River, Perry Police Chief Ramon Gonzalez said. The river was frozen Tuesday, so Gonzalez said the plans might change.

Fowler is 6 feet tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has long brown hair and a beard, police said. Any information about Fowler should be reported to Jefferson County emergency officials at (785) 863-2351.

Shawn was SUCH a sweet guy! They called him "Rambo", but behind his tough voice was one of the sweetest guys! The kind of guy that really cared about other people, and was very thoughtful. He has had some tough times, and I really hope he has just retreated somewhere and that we find him alive! You never know when your time is up, make sure you live each day to the fullest, and appreciate the people in your life!!! And please, please pray for his parents! What a horrible way to spend the holidays! My heart aches for them, and I pray for all of Shawn's family in this time of worry and wondering.

Im so sorry. I have been out there in a few spots that are pretty remote and has some type of shelter. I have had the week of and when I heard of this story it broke my heart. I too have lost some one close. They were having Alzheimer's and she walked into the woods and we never found her. I am so sorry and I truly hope you find him safe and warm somewhere. My hearts goes to the family who must be devastated. I am off for vacation and I am going to go up to perry every day until I am told not to. The rangers are already on my case. I just feel that the more eyes the better it is. I am so sorry and for his parents, my heart and prayers goes out to you and all that were close to him
