An accident involving a tanker truck and a semi-trailer truck caused traffic to make a short detour around the Teepee Junction intersection Saturday afternoon.
No one was injured, but both trucks had considerable damage, according to Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ty Siebert.
At around 2 p.m. Saturday, a Rollet Brothers Trucking Co. tanker truck hit a Hamm Quarry’s semi-trailer truck.
The tanker truck driver, Alan Best, 55 of Topeka, failed to yield as he was making a left-hand turn from the southbound lane of U.S. Highway 24-59 onto U.S. Highway 24-40, Siebert said. The Hamm Quarry truck was heading north on U.S. Highway 24-59.
Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical crews were called on scene to clean up a diesel fuel leak coming from the Hamm Quarry truck.

I just need to let some one know that the journal world really needs to get their stories straight. Alan Best for Topeka was NOT the driver of the Tanker Truck..Alan Best was the driver of the Hamm's Truck and i think some one owes Alan an apology for making him look like an idot and accusing him of being the cause of the accident when it wasnt...I think journal world needs to check their facts before the publish!!!...
