A former 1980s Hutchinson-based rock band is reuniting next month to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County.

On Sept. 13, the concert Alpheus Reunion 2008 will be at Abe and Jake’s Landing, 8 E. Sixth St. All funds raised will go to the local chapter of the nonprofit organization. Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs at-risk children in the community with volunteer adult mentors to encourage a long-term personal relationship.

The concert begins at 9 p.m. Ticket prices are $8 for people ages 18 to 20 and $6 for 21 and up.

Tickets will be available in advance at Big Brothers Big Sisters, 1525 W. Sixth St., and at the door the night of the event.
