Friends are seeking donations to help the family of a Lawrence teen who was seriously injured in a car accident last week.

A benefit concert is planned for 7 p.m. Monday at The Bottleneck, 737 N.H., to help raise money for Erica Smith, 17. Jordan Brown, Yes Sir and Brother Fresh & the Soul Survivors are scheduled to play. All money made by the bands and donations will be given to Smith.

Smith was injured during a rollover accident Tuesday on Sixth Street between Stoneridge Drive and Queens Road. Lawrence police have not released an accident report.

Dennis McCulloch, a Kansas University Hospital spokesman, said Saturday that Smith was listed in serious condition at the Kansas City, Kan., hospital.

Checks can also be sent to the Erica Smith Fund, Central National Bank, 603 W. Ninth St., Lawrence, KS 66044.

I don't know why the event details say it starts at 10pm, but doors do open at 7pm. Admission is $3.
