Investment adviser earns designation

Eugene Heffron, a financial services adviser at First State Bank & Trust, Tonganoxie, has earned the CRPS (Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist) professional designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver.

Graduates of the designation program must complete a specialized study course that provides a foundation for giving retirement planning advice to corporations and small businesses.

The course covers issues involved in establishing retirement plans within businesses.

To receive the designation, planners must complete the course, pass a final exam and sign a code of ethics commitment and declaration.

Heffron is an investment adviser representative for PrimeVest Financial Services Inc., at First State Bank & Trust, 400 Bury St., in Tonganoxie.
