Stay out of it

To the editor:

William Dann, in his paid advertisement of April 21, is yet another male to erroneously believe that the choice for abortion should not lie with the mother. He would have the federal government impose rules. Sorry, Mr. Dann, that may have been the Archie Bunker thinking of your day, but I suggest you peek in on the 21st century.

It is interesting to me that the proponents of “constitutionally inspired judicial, governmental or individual decision concerning pregnancy” are mostly males. Who gives them the right to make such decisions?

Think about this: Your young daughter has been raped by an uneducated, violent and mentally retarded male, and becomes pregnant as a result. You would have her not only carry this child but rear him/her? In addition, should “your daughter” still be in high school, would her mother then be forced to rear the child? Perhaps the future grandmother is already a single parent trying to raise a child or children. You are saying that a baby should come into this world whether or not she/he can be economically and emotionally provided for? Surely not.

I suggest you ponder other matters than make decisions for women who are more than capable of doing so themselves.
