Shawnee ? Free State High’s softball team split two games at Shawnee Mission Northwest on Monday.

The Firebirds won game one, 10-7. Catherine Smith helped her own cause on the mound by hitting a two-run home run.

Free State lost game two, 13-3.

Free State (4-6) will face Leavenworth at 5 p.m. and Shawnee Mission West at 6:15 p.m. today at Holcom.
