Replaying history
To the editor:
The parties and parades have faded here in Lawrence. The championship glow still has its crimson and blue glow, and all is right in the world of NCAA basketball as far as Jayhawk fans are concerned.
Mr. Chalmers, you have an honor that few players of any sport can realize. Already, in the driveway basketball courts, school gyms and on playgrounds everywhere in the city, the story is being relived. “Five, 4, 3, Chalmers gets the pass, the shot is up : It’s good! The Jayhawks go into overtime!”
This is how the true history is recorded. This is the true honor.
