MS support

To the editor:

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society would like to thank the entire Lawrence community for your support of Walk MS on April 12. This year, we raised more than $22,000! Those contributions will help thousands of local people with multiple sclerosis through programs and services, as well as supporting research for a cure. And it’s not too late to donate. Just go to www.MSmidamerica.org and click the Walk MS logo. Every dollar counts!

Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving. Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.

Again, thank you for your support in this exciting event!
