Housing fair appeals to tenants, landlords
City officials will be hosting two events designed to make sure landlords and tenants know their rights and responsibilities.
The city will host a landlord seminar from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at the Lawrence Holidome, 200 McDonald Drive. The seminar will cover the Kansas Landlord Tenant Act, an update on federal housing programs, and an overview of how housing discrimination complaints are investigated in the city.
The event is free and includes a lunch. Participants are asked to register in advance at www.lawrencehumanrelations.org or by calling 832-3310.
The city also will be host to a housing information fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H. The fair will feature booths for tenants, homeowners and potential homeowners.
The event is free and open to the public.
