Light Churned Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream being recalled from Dillons

Some containers of mint chocolate chip ice cream are being recalled from Dillons stores in Kansas, the grocery chain’s parent company announced Monday evening.

The Kroger Co. announced the recall of two codes of Private Selection Light Churned Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream in 1.75-quart containers with a “Sell By” date of Dec. 3. The two codes are DEC0308 8070 and DEC0308 8080.

The ice cream is made by Inter-American Products Inc., a division of Kroger.

The ice cream is being recalled in Kansas and 11 other states because it may contain egg, soy and wheat, which are not listed in the ingredients statement. People who have an allergy to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product.

Customers are encouraged to return the product to the store for a full refund.

No illnesses have been reported. For most consumers, there is no safety issue with the ice cream, the company said.
