KU Credit Union plans Shred Fest
KU Credit Union will conduct a Shred Fest from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the credit union’s branch in south Lawrence, 2221 W. 31st St. It is open to the public.
People can bring up to two boxes of old computer disks and documents containing sensitive information to the fest, where the materials will be destroyed and disposed of by a professional shredding company.
The fest is designed to help protect people against the increasing danger of identity theft, said Ginger Wehner, a vice president for the credit union.
