To the editor:

You ruined my day! Our house is bursting with KU excitement. My kids are wearing KU tattoos on their cheeks, KU basketball jerseys, shorts, T’s, Crocs and sweatshirts. My second-grade son just wrote a poem about the team that he is turning into a song. We have our neon Jayhawk in our picture window glowing 24 hours a day! I was in college in ’88 and vividly remember where I was, who I was with, the score of the game at the final buzzer and the feeling, oh the feeling, of winning it all.

To get my Journal-World off my front porch and to have to look at Roy Williams and to read about his poor pitiful friends who don’t know who to cheer for. PLEASE! If his friends were Jayhawks, they’re NOT anymore. And if they’re not, then what’s the story about?

Please tell me why, when Bill Self, Lew Perkins and all the boys on the team have done so much for the city of Lawrence just by being successful, staying out of trouble, not to mention making it to the Final Four, why you can’t find anything better to put on the front page of MY paper?

Do you think Danny Manning likes looking at Roy Williams on the front page of our city’s only newspaper? Seriously, if you need help finding things to cover for your front page, especially during this week, walk the streets of Lawrence, I’m sure anyone else would come up with a better story and photo for the front page.

Tracie Miller,

Lawrence
