To the editor:
The Social Service League of Lawrence would like to give a big "thank you" to the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. Their hard work and dedication has been truly amazing to watch over the past six months. The amount of time and energy they have spent holding events and raising money for local charities is a prime example of selfless acts that benefit this whole community.
We will be able to supply eyeglasses and shoes, through our vision and children's shoe fund, to low-income children and families for years to come. Thank you for allowing SSL to be a part of these wonderful events - not to mention they were a lot of fun! The SSL has been honored to be one of the beneficiaries this year.
Merrill Evans,
for the Social Service League of Lawrence board of directors
