Suzanne L. Collins, a Lawrence-based wildlife photographer, recently had one of her images featured on the cover of the April issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist, a magazine published by TFH Publications of Neptune, N.J.

Collins took the photograph – of a Ringed Map Turtle, a rare chelonian in the southeastern United States – in the Pearl River in Mississippi.

Collins, who retired after 30 years with Kansas University’s School of Education, is a photographer of amphibians, turtles and reptiles in the United States and Canada. Her photographic stock includes more than 16,000 color slides and digital images of North American species. She is a member of the executive council of the Kansas Herpetological Society, Lawrence.
