Pinnacle Career Institute in Lawrence was part of three state honors presented Sept. 21 during the annual conference of the Kansas Association of Career Colleges and Schools/Missouri Association of Career Colleges:

¢ Beverly Shirel won Student of the Year after overcoming physical challenges following an accident. She is a medical assistant at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

¢ Jennifer Flippin, program coordinator for the Medical Assisting Program, won Instructor of the Year.

¢ LMH, nominated by the institute, won Employer of the Year after hiring 11 graduates and providing eight externships for students.
