Parks department to sell woodchips
The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is selling woodchips next week at the Forestry Division facility, 1420 E. 11th St.
The department recycles trees that are cut down throughout the city, and those trees are put through a chipper and used as mulch.
Extra woodchips will be sold:
¢ 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
¢ 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
¢ 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6.
One pickup load of chips is $5 (the price is more for larger trucks). Patrons are asked to bring a tarp for their pickups to prevent woodchips from littering the road after they leave the facility.
The sale will take place rain or shine.
