Farm leadership

To the editor:

Rep. Nancy Boyda, serving in Congress from the Kansas 2nd District, has been awarded the 2007 Golden Triangle by the National Farmers Union (NFU) recognizing her outstanding government service and leadership on issues affecting rural America. It is their highest honor.

Rep. Boyda made a tremendous bipartisan effort on the Agriculture Committee to get support for the 2007 farm bill. She spent a lot of time talking and listening to farmers, ranchers and farm groups in Washington, D.C., and in the Kansas 2nd District, and she says that much of the bill’s success was due to their support nationwide. We can be grateful for Rep. Boyda’s leadership.

NFU president Tom Buis said this award honors the true advocates for those who live, work and raise their families in rural America, and thanked them for their leadership.

It is so reassuring to have a recognized leader in Congress from the Kansas 2nd District.
