School board to ponder raise for superintendent

Lawrence school board members on Monday night will consider giving a 3 percent raise to Superintendent Randy Weseman.

According to the meeting’s agenda released Friday, board members have completed their annual evaluation of Weseman’s job performance. The item on the agenda recommends increasing his base salary of $146,760 to $151,164.

Weseman’s current three-year contract runs through the 2008-2009 school year.

Board members already have approved adding funding equal to a 3.28 percent increase from last year to be spent on salaries of teachers, classified staff and all other administrators.

Weseman, superintendent since 2000, said he asked board members not to conduct his review until all other raises were settled.

Monday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at district headquarters, 110 McDonald Drive.
