St. Patrick's Day parade looking for non-profit groups
Local non-profit groups have until Monday evening to apply to be a beneficiary of the 2008 St. Patrick's Day parade. The deadline has been moved up this year to help with budgeting. Enlarge video
The Lawrence St. Patrick's Day Parade committee is accepting applications for nonprofit groups interested in being the beneficiary of 2008 St. Patrick's Day festivities.
Past beneficiaries include Cottonwood Inc., the Crown Casting Club and Health Care Access. In 21 years, the parade has provided more than $435,000 to local charities.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Monday. Applications may be picked up and submitted at McDonald Chiropractic Clinic, 953 E. 23rd St.; Cottin's Hardware, 1832 Mass.; or KLWN/The Lazer, 3125 W. Sixth St.
Completed applications can also be mailed to the committee at P.O. Box 1702, Lawrence 66044.
