Kansas University basketball coaches Bill Self and Bonnie Henrickson are teaming up to help beat cancer at this season’s American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program Oct. 9.

The program is a partnership between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. More than 500 coaches have raised more than $30 million since its inception in 1993.

The society’s Coaches vs. Cancer reception will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Maceli’s, 1031 N.H. The reception includes hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, a silent auction and remarks from both coaches.

The auction will include a piece of the Allen Fieldhouse floor, signed basketballs from the men’s and women’s teams, and autographed photos. Tickets cost $50 per person.
