Runza Restaurant, Lawrence, will donate 15 percent of today’s sales to purchase children’s books for the Lawrence Public Library.

The event is part of Runza’s Great Books for Great Kids promotion, being conducted in all 77 of Runza’s restaurants in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado.

The company has raised more than $100,000 through its previous campaigns, which contribute money for purchasing books for schools, school foundations and local libraries.

The program has been recognized by the National Restaurant Association, having previously received the Restaurant Good Neighbor Award in the large business category.
