Help appreciated

To the editor:

My daughter, Alyssa Phillips, was involved in a serious five-car accident on the Farmers Turnpike last week. There were a lot of good Samaritans, whose names we do not know, who stopped to help. A special thank you goes to the EMT who was on his way home from work and stopped to help before the on-duty EMTs arrived. Also, thank you to the man who took the shirt off his back to give my daughter something to apply pressure to the wound on her head.

Another large thank you to the motorcycle driver who tried to contact us in regard to the accident at my daughter’s request. I also know there were several nurses and others who stopped to help. There was a lot going on with cars and debris everywhere and the site was horrific. Thankfully it turned out to look a lot worse than it was.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to help including those doing their chosen professions as well as those at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital emergency room who went into action when the victims arrived.

Martin and Leslie Huerter,
