Callahan Creek helps two KU students

Two Kansas University students are recipients of scholarships courtesy of Callahan Creek, a Lawrence-based marketing agency.

The agency presented a $2,500 scholarship to journalism student Sheila Wang, who is pursuing a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications; and to fine arts student Alexandria Schmidt, a sophomore double majoring in graphic design and business with an emphasis in marketing.

The students received recognition Monday night at KU, after two high-level marketing executives for Anheuser-Busch entertained a public audience with a presentation of their own, “Marketing to the New Consumer.”

The executives, Bob Lachky and Dave Peacock, are professionals in residence this week at the School of Journalism, which organized their visit.

Callahan Creek donated $25,000 to the KU Endowment Association, that will finance scholarships, including those presented Monday night. The donation came in recognition of the agency’s 25th anniversary, being celebrated this year.
