The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce is selling tickets to its annual Taste of Lawrence Fall Mixer, set for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on the grounds of Meadowbrook Apartments, northeast of Bob Billings Parkway and Crestline Drive.

The mixer – featuring food from area businesses – is intended to recognize Douglas County educational institutions and to bring leaders of business, industry and education together.

The event is considered a salute to educators from Kansas University, Haskell Indian Nations University, Baker University, along with those from Lawrence, Eudora, Baldwin and Lecompton public schools, St. John’s School, Veritas Christian School, Century School, Bishop Seabury Academy, Raintree Montessori and the Early Education Preschool Program.

Tickets are limited and must be prepaid and mailed or picked up prior to the event. K-12 educators are offered tickets at half-price ($10), thanks to sponsorships from businesses that are chamber members.
