Former LHS student scores in intern contest
John Parker Jr., a senior at Washington and Lee University who attended Lawrence High School, recently placed second nationally in the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network Summer Lives Contest.
The Northwestern Mutual program, considered a “top-10” internship, had more than 600 participants this year.
Parker spent three months in the program and will have his picture placed in an achievement advertisement in Young Money Magazine.
