Broadband leader to discuss digital media

Patrick Knorr, general manager of Sunflower Broadband and director of strategic planning for The World Company, will discuss the future of digital media during a Lawrence Technology Association luncheon, set for 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jade Mongolian Barbeque, 1511 W. 23rd St.

Knorr is scheduled to discuss the future of broadband, television, communications, the Internet, interactive advertising, interactive television, advertising on demand and video on demand.

He also will review the upcoming transition to digital television, set for completion by Feb. 17, 2009 – a subject he’ll be addressing, as chairman of the American Cable Association, in testimony the next day before a House committee on Capitol Hill in Washington.

Cost for the luncheon is $12 for association members and $14 for others.
