Power reach

To the editor:

Anyone who substitutes an analogy for science in the debate about building coal-fired electricity generating plants is acting like an ostrich with its head in the ground. Instead of crying over spilt milk, Kansans have a unique opportunity to pioneer 21st-century energy generation systems. Rather than saddling ourselves with a dinosaur technology, why not reach for the stars with an energy generation program that rivals our state’s bioscience initiative? Ad astra per aspera.
