Staffers from the Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau attended the Kansas Tourism Conference, presented by the Travel Industry Association of Kansas and the Kansas Department of Commerce’s Travel & Tourism Division. The conference was Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 in Topeka.

The bureau’s Web site, www.visitlawrence.com, received first place in the Professionally Developed Website category of the association’s annual Marketing Awards, judged by a panel of advertising and marketing professionals.

The association celebrated its 25th anniversary during the conference. Judy Billings, director of the bureau, received the association’s 25th Anniversary Award, for her service to the organization and tourism in Kansas.

The association is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes and develops travel and tourism in Kansas.
