Free State volleyball ‘getting back on track’

? Free State High’s volleyball team won two of three matches during a quadrangular Tuesday at Shawnee Heights.

The Firebirds lost to St. Teresa’s, 25-20, 26-24, then defeated Shawnee Mission Northwest, 25-11, 25-18, and Shawnee Heights 25-22, 25-22.

“They’re getting back on track,” Free State coach Nancy Hopkins said. “We should have probably beaten all three of them, but we didn’t. But it looks like we’re coming around.”

The Firebirds (17-11) will travel Saturday to the Emporia Invitational.
