Fool me twice?

To the editor:

For a long time since Sen. Hillary Clinton voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq, she has been saying that if she had known then what she knew later, she wouldn’t have voted yes. Just lately, she has voted for another Bush administration move, to declare Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.

It happens, though, as reported by Seymour Hersh in the New Yorker magazine, that the Revolutionary Guard has become the target of a planned air and land (special forces) attack by the Bush administration on Iran. Hersh cites many sources who are concerned about the lack of evidence to justify the attack and its likely repercussions. The senator’s vote plays into the administration’s plans, especially if she has effectively become the Democratic nominee for president by the time of the attack, which could be in March or April.

Experience is supposed to be an advantage in the person we entrust with the presidency, but experience is of doubtful value if it’s of the “fool me twice” variety.
