State Rep. Tom Holland, D-Baldwin City, might challenge state Sen. Roger Pine, R-Lawrence, in next year’s election.

“At this point, I am strongly considering a run,” Holland said.

Pine said he is leaning toward seeking re-election but hasn’t made a final decision.

Holland is serving in his third two-year term in the House, and Pine is in his first four-year term in the Senate.
