Van Go Adornment to take place Saturday

Andrew Padilla, a participant in Van Go Mobile Arts, paints furniture Thursday at the Van Go studio, 715 N.J. The annual Adornment Show, featuring artwork by youths in the Van Go program, opens with a reception at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Van Go Mobile Arts will conduct its annual Adornment event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds benefit the nationally recognized JAMS program.

Adornment features artwork by “artist apprentices” of the Jobs in the Arts Make Sense program. JAMS, which serves at-risk youth ages 14-18 through art-based job opportunities and social services, spends most of the year creating public art such as murals or custom-painted benches.

For further viewing, Adornment will be displayed from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. until Dec. 23 at the Van Go gallery, 715 N.J.
