To the editor:

Congratulations to the Lawrence High School Music Department, Cathy Crispino, Mike Jones, Rachel Dirks, Johanna Cox, Pat McCarty, Rogene Anderson, Joyce Jordan and all the student performers for their well done GALA 2007. The music was inspiring and performed impeccably. The vision of Rachel Dirks directing Vivaldi’s “Gloria in D,” framed by over 340 student musicians, will be a pleasant memory for years to come. The audience could feel the emotion and passion in the performance.

Thank you to Ms. Crispino for giving a voice to Vivaldi’s work through her hours of work with the combined choirs. Thanks to Ms. Dirks for directing the live performance and bringing the musical score to life, as we watched and listened. Thanks to Mr. Jones, Mrs. Cox and Mr. McCarty for the rousing performance of the Marching Lions, Heavy Metal Program. You all are wonderful!
