Hallmark manager to lead in Leavenworth

A production manager for Hallmark Cards Inc. in Lawrence is taking over leadership of the company’s operations in Leavenworth.

Mike Dreyer is the new general manager for Hallmark’s operations in Leavenworth, including a printing center that is being consolidated into an existing plant on Eisenhower Road.

The operations make party products and gift wrap for all Hallmark brands, as well as products for Crayola, a Hallmark subsidiary.

Dreyer has been a section manager, quality manager and, most recently, a production manager at the Lawrence Production Center, 101 McDonald Drive.

He joined Hallmark in 1985 and also has overseen Hallmark’s operations in Mexico and worked as a production manager in the company’s fixture plant in Metamora, Ill.

He takes over for Jeff Dema, who is returning to Hallmark headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., to lead implementation of a corporate-wide work process initiative.

“This is a win for our operations in Leavenworth as well as for Hallmark as a whole,” said Mary Beth Brown, Hallmark’s vice president for product solutions. “Jeff has been the right leader at the right time for the Leavenworth Production Center, and his return to headquarters allows us to tap Mike’s talent to lead the Leavenworth facility at what may be the most exciting time in its 60-year history.”
