The man in custody for barricading himself at his home south of Lawrence Friday is in the Douglas County Jail tonight.

Darrel Maley, 57, was arrested today on an arson charge.

Local law enforcement surrounded Maley’s home on Friday after receiving a call about a distraught person at the property.

After 10 hours of talks, Maley’s home and an outbuilding went up in flames. Maley was taken into custody and hospitalized for an assessment.

Maley’s bond is set at $150,000.
