Alison Hearne Atkins, owner of Alison H. Atkins Studio of Voice, Lawrence, was among 100 alumnae of East Carolina University recognized for their accomplishments and distinguished careers.

The alumnae were honored with a reception at the residence of Chancellor Steve Ballard, plus a luncheon and recognition program in conjunction with the university’s centennial celebration. The program, “A Legacy of Leadership: 100 Incredible ECU Women,” included a presentation by Cokie Roberts, of ABC News.

Atkins is a professor emeritus at Fort Hays State University.
