Attorneys, staffers attend training
Ten staffers from the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office recently participated in a two-day training event in Topeka provided by the Kansas County and District Attorney’s Association.
Participating were David Melton, chief assistant district attorney; Wade Bowie, Katy Britton, Brenda Clary, Eve Kemple, Debby Moody and Angela Wilson, assistant district attorneys; Dolores Moseley and Cindy Riling, victim/witness coordinators; and Catherine “Mattie” Born, investigator.
Attorneys received training in domestic violence, use of experts and trial organization. Administrative staffers learned about victim assistance, working with the Kansas Department of Corrections and Juvenile Justice Authority, and the use of volunteers.
