Energy options
To the editor:
Who becomes defiant and throws temper tantrums when they do not get their wishes and do not want to listen to reason? Two-year-olds, Sunflower Electric and Kansas legislators (who even throw in political posturing). When Spain (Solucar company) can come up with water that is solar heated into steam to drive turbines that generate electricity, Kansas can come up with something better than coal to produce electricity.
France will introduce in 2008 a car that holds five and can go as far as 500 miles on compressed air with zero emissions (more information at www.theaircar.com).
Light-emitting diodes are being used to light a parking garage in Raleigh, N.C., with projected savings of $75,000 per year.
Don’t believe the Chicken Littles that the sky will fall if we do not use coal-generated electricity. Quit re-electing them! Tell them to start reading about developments in other countries instead of playing “my political posture is better than your political posture.” They are indulging in this childish game of “my father can beat your father” that involves zero civility and a lot of hot air CO2 emissions. Lawyer fees that they are planning to spend would pay for a lot of research and development.
