KU offers reward for tips in shootings

Kansas University officials are taking the shootings at Lewis Hall so seriously that they’re offering $1,000 to anyone who provides information leading to arrests in the two incidents that have occurred in the past month.

In both cases, someone shot holes through windows in the Daisy Hill dining center inside Lewis Hall while the building was closed. No one was injured.

All weapons are prohibited on the KU campus.

Anyone with information that might assist the investigation is urged to call KU Crime Stoppers at 864-8888. Calls are anonymous.

Meanwhile, Lawrence police have not determined what broke a front window discovered Sunday night at Prairie Park School, 2711 Kensington Road, said Sgt. Paul Fellers. Rick Gammill, the school district’s special operations director, said police did not find a bullet or casing at the scene.

Fellers said crime-scene investigators have determined bullets damaged windows at two businesses and Lawrence High School in the last month. Anyone with information can call 843-TIPS.
