Coroner investigating body found in lake
The body of a Lawrence man was found Monday morning in Lake Shawnee west of Topeka, according to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was identified as Eric J. Cruce, 34. A cause of death had not been determined as of Tuesday, but sheriff’s officers think he fell into the water while fishing on the east side of the lake.
Cruce was found by a Tonganoxie man who was at the lake. The man pulled Cruce out of the water and attempted to revive him with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
The Shawnee County coroner is investigating the death.
