Travelers rank KCI best among midsize airports
Kansas City, Mo. ? Travelers rated Kansas City International Airport the best among medium-sized airports, partly because of faster trips through security screening, according to a survey released Tuesday.
J.D. Power and Associates, in its annual review of the nation’s airports, said KCI improved from a year ago in all eight categories it measures, including check-in, baggage claim and food and beverage offerings.
The biggest rise came in how well it moves passengers through its security stations, the organization said, crediting a private contractor with reducing the waiting time by an average of three minutes per passenger.
The runners-up for medium airports – with 10 million to 30 million passengers per year – were Sacramento International and LaGuardia International in New York.
