To the editor:

When a tornado hits Kansas, assistance to those in need is essential.

Pastor Randy Beeman of First Christian Church agreed for the church to be a collection point for care kits to send to Greensburg. Heart to Heart International will deliver these kits to victims of the tornado.

Each care kit contains shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush, washcloth, hand towel, soap, soap travel case, a comb and 10 Band-Aids.

As a volunteer, my daughter Lucy called several businesses looking for donations of products to prepare 50 kits. Her cousin Gwen helped to put the kits together.

The Eldridge Hotel, Dillons, Hy-Vee and Super Target all participated in the effort.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of these businesses and all of the people who are making a difference in the lives of the people of Greensburg.
