Professor earns service award
Allen Ford, a distinguished teaching professor of accounting at Kansas University, received the 2007 Outstanding Service Award for the Midwest Region of the American Accounting Association.
Ford received the award during the annual meeting of the association’s Midwest region, conducted April 14 in St. Louis. The award is given in “recognition and appreciation of lifetime service to the Midwest region,” which consists of 11 states.
Presenting the award was Gail Hoover, an associate professor of accounting at Rockhurst University and past president of the association’s Midwest region.
Ford served as the region’s president from 1998 to 1999 and was program chair and vice president for academics. He served two three-year terms on the region’s steering committee and presents research papers at the region’s annual meetings.
The association promotes worldwide excellence in accounting education, research and practice. The association is an organization of people interested in accounting education and research.
