The Lawrence school district and Lawrence Education Association will host the district’s annual recognition reception at 4 p.m. today at Southwest Junior High School, 2511 Inverness Drive.

Several people will be honored, including 27 retiring employees and 10 educators reaching 25 years of service.

Others being honored include outgoing school board members Sue Morgan, Leonard Ortiz and Cindy Yulich, plus Janelle Martin and Susan Krumm, who will receive Outstanding Citizen awards.

The educators who will be honored for 25 years of service are Paul Bloom, Phyllis J. Copt, Betty Currie, Mary Davidson, David Drennan, Carol McFall, Laurie McLane-Higginson, Linda Siebenthall, Paulette Strong and Carol Van Wyk.
